Polymeric Frameworks

The development of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) has had a significant impact on various fields of chemistry and materials science. Naturally, polymer science also exploited this novel type of material for various purposes, which is due to the defined porosity, high surface area, and catalytic activity of MOFs.

Polymer structures are normally drawn as follows by showing only one repeating unit. Polymer structure has a direct impact on the mobility of polymer segments and thus is the priority in designing the barrier properties. Because polymer properties are influenced by numerous complex structural factors, repeat unit structures provided by previous polymer designs are not sufficient for the production guidelines.

As process engineering has matured, research interest has shifted towards polymer product quality. At MFA, we are eager to create an improved polymer product design framework in many situations in the manufacturing process.
